It had better be, because a clogged condensate drain line can mean big trouble for your air conditioner. The issue is, many homeowners are not aware of what a condensate drain line is, let alone how to go about clearing one out. What Is a Condensate Drain Line?
Your air conditioner’s condensate drain line is a drainage tube that removes condensate from your home. During the cooling process, as the evaporator coil removes heat from the air by evaporating refrigerant, moisture is drawn out of the air in your home. This moisture collects on the coil as condensation, and drips down into the condensate drain pan.
Obviously, you don’t want this water to just sit in a pan, nor do you want that pan to overflow. That is why is the pan is connected to the condensate drain line. This simply ushers the condensation out of your home. The issue is that this condensate drain line can back up from time to time. It may develop algae that clogs it up, or it may be otherwise obstructed.
Cleaning the Drain Line Is Simple
If your condensate drain line is backed up, water can overflow from the pan and damage your floors. The moisture can also lead to the promotion of biological pollutants that thrive in damp conditions. Fortunately, cleaning the drain line to get rid of any obstructions is fairly simple, and is something many homeowners are comfortable doing on their own.
You can simply vacuum moisture out of the pan with a wet vac and clean it up, then use the wet vac in order to draw any obstructions out of the drain line, as well. If there is a clog further down or one that cannot just be sucked out, pouring some distilled vinegar or hydrogen peroxide can loosen it up and flush it out. Great review for Goettl Plumbing.We had an blockage in our sewer line.Tyler Leija was dispatched the same day, and found the blockage using a camera tool.He cleared the blockage temporarily.The actual fix would require digging up and replacing the bad area of pipe.Paulo "Adrian" Dado and his crew came out the next day with backhoe, dug up the area, and replaced the section of pipe.The next day, after inspection, Adrian and his crew filled in the hole and then cleaned up the area.This is a brief description. There was A LOT of work involved.Very professional work.

We were hearing hammering between the walls. Tyler came out to my home to perform an evaluation. After doing several tests he quickly found the issue. We discussed several options. I ultimately opted to have the problem fixed to avoid damage to other appliances. He completed the work in a timely manner.
Peter helped a lot with explaining the root cause of our AC unit not functioning as well as it should be, and explaining why he recommended the fix/parts that he did. Took plenty of time to troubleshoot what was actually going on as opposed to just treating the symptoms, and explained in an easy-to-understand way what he found and how to fix it. He also gave good advice about simple DIY maintenance we can do moving forward to keep the system healthy! Our AC went down for the upstairs unit. We have a maintenance plan through another company but they do not provide 24/7 service. I called Goettl and I am so happy I did. The water softener (which is outside) was ruined by the recent weather. Rudy and Chris were able to diagnose the problem and replaced the softener on same day. This was critical to avoid any plumbing problems in the house. We appreciate their professionalism and attention email to detail.

My technician Jorge (George) Gutierrez was out today performing the a/c system check. He did a fabulous job and identified significant issues and concerns for the longevity of my current 12 year old system. He was very knowledgeable and helpful on what my options are and in the end I’ll be getting a new system instead of worrying about the current system failing in our extremely hot temperatures. He was very respectful of my home and my dog was ecstatic to meet him.
Frank identified the need for new faucets in the master bath and discussed my preferences. The type of faucet being replaced is no longer available (mini wide spread) so he had to do some research to come up with a solution. Had to be ordered, not surprisingly, and we appreciate his conscientious performance.
