Heat pumps are marvelous solutions to keeping a home comfortable throughout the year, since they can operate as both a heater and an air conditioner. However, one of the few drawbacks of having a heat pump installed is that it can struggle with very low outdoor temperatures. Because heat pumps extract heat from the outside air and move it inside a home, it becomes more difficult for a heat pump to remove enough heat from very cold air to effectively warm up a house. To answer the question, “Is a heat pump strong enough to keep me warm when it’s really cold?” we need to define what you mean by “really cold.” This is much different in Southern Arizona than, say, North Dakota. From December through February, Southern Arizona has average highs around 65°F, and average lows of 40°F—mostly during the evenings. Heat pumps start to encounter trouble with cold weather when the outdoor temperature starts to drop below 35°F. Below freezing is when they begin to decline steeply in efficiency. So if “really cold” for you is a Southern Arizona deep winter of 40°F, then a heat pump should have no trouble keeping you warm. In fact, heat pumps were designed with warmer climates like ours in mind.
However, you can have assurance: installing a dual fuel hybrid system. These combine a heat pump with a back-up system that uses another fuel source, such as a propane furnace. Should the heat pump begin to struggle because the temperature has dropped too low, the back-up system will automatically come on to compensate. Great review for Goettl Plumbing.We had an blockage in our sewer line.Tyler Leija was dispatched the same day, and found the blockage using a camera tool.He cleared the blockage temporarily.The actual fix would require digging up and replacing the bad area of pipe.Paulo "Adrian" Dado and his crew came out the next day with backhoe, dug up the area, and replaced the section of pipe.The next day, after inspection, Adrian and his crew filled in the hole and then cleaned up the area.This is a brief description. There was A LOT of work involved.Very professional work.

We were hearing hammering between the walls. Tyler came out to my home to perform an evaluation. After doing several tests he quickly found the issue. We discussed several options. I ultimately opted to have the problem fixed to avoid damage to other appliances. He completed the work in a timely manner.

The water softener (which is outside) was ruined by the recent weather. Rudy and Chris were able to diagnose the problem and replaced the softener on same day. This was critical to avoid any plumbing problems in the house. We appreciate their professionalism and attention email to detail.

My technician Jorge (George) Gutierrez was out today performing the a/c system check. He did a fabulous job and identified significant issues and concerns for the longevity of my current 12 year old system. He was very knowledgeable and helpful on what my options are and in the end I’ll be getting a new system instead of worrying about the current system failing in our extremely hot temperatures. He was very respectful of my home and my dog was ecstatic to meet him.
Frank identified the need for new faucets in the master bath and discussed my preferences. The type of faucet being replaced is no longer available (mini wide spread) so he had to do some research to come up with a solution. Had to be ordered, not surprisingly, and we appreciate his conscientious performance.
