Is My Air Conditioner Leaking Refrigerant?
To say that your air conditioner in Tucson, AZ is important is to state the very obvious. Our weather in this part of the country is oppressively hot for much of the year, and you really need to know that your home cooling system is going to function effectively and efficiently if you hope to cool your home successfully. If it is leaking refrigerant, though, this simply will not be possible.
Your air conditioner is designed and engineered to work with a specific level of refrigerant. If this refrigerant charge should deplete due to leaks in the system, your comfort and your cooling equipment itself are in serious danger. Here are a few signs that your AC may be leaking refrigerant.
Is Your AC Blowing Tepid Air?
It is the refrigerant in your air conditioning system that is actually responsible for cooling the air in your home by absorbing heat from it. This occurs as refrigerant evaporates in the evaporator coil. If your air conditioner does not have a sufficient amount of refrigerant within, then it is going to struggle to cool air effectively. You may feel rather tepid, lukewarm air blowing throughout your home as a result.
Is There Ice On the AC?
OK, my AC is icy; it must be working really well! If you’ve ever thought that before, think again. Your air conditioner is designed to cool air, not freeze anything. If you notice ice on the evaporator coil, or on the refrigerant lines themselves, it could be due to low refrigerant levels. If enough heat is not absorbed, the refrigerant in the system can get too cold.
Is the System Hissing at You?
Have you heard your air conditioner hissing when you walk past it outside? If so, this could be the result of pressurized refrigerant leaking out of the system. It may not seem like a very big issue, but this “minor” problem could be a sign of serious trouble to come.

Great review for Goettl Plumbing.We had an blockage in our sewer line.Tyler Leija was dispatched the same day, and found the blockage using a camera tool.He cleared the blockage temporarily.The actual fix would require digging up and replacing the bad area of pipe.Paulo "Adrian" Dado and his crew came out the next day with backhoe, dug up the area, and replaced the section of pipe.The next day, after inspection, Adrian and his crew filled in the hole and then cleaned up the area.This is a brief description. There was A LOT of work involved.Very professional work.

We were hearing hammering between the walls. Tyler came out to my home to perform an evaluation. After doing several tests he quickly found the issue. We discussed several options. I ultimately opted to have the problem fixed to avoid damage to other appliances. He completed the work in a timely manner.
Peter helped a lot with explaining the root cause of our AC unit not functioning as well as it should be, and explaining why he recommended the fix/parts that he did. Took plenty of time to troubleshoot what was actually going on as opposed to just treating the symptoms, and explained in an easy-to-understand way what he found and how to fix it. He also gave good advice about simple DIY maintenance we can do moving forward to keep the system healthy! Goettl as a whole was very easy to work with and I was able to book an appointment as early as the day following my phone call. Great service from start to finish!

Our AC went down for the upstairs unit. We have a maintenance plan through another company but they do not provide 24/7 service. I called Goettl and I am so happy I did. Jesus Gloria was out within a few hours. I was called to confirm the appointment window. Then texted with the photo attached so I would know who my technician was and the link to track their arrival. 2.7.24Jay Cruz, technician, arrived on time today to service/check my ac/heating. Jay arrived timely and was friendly. Jay checked my inside unit, ceiling vents, etc and he made some recommendations. He was easy to talk to and very professional. He will be sending me an email with the recommendations and costs associated so that I can save the money to have these taken care of. I will say, no other technician has been as proficient as Jay.Yesterday, 2.6.24, I received a call from Betty. Betty was also very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She listened to me and made recommendations and advice. By the end if the call, I felt like Betty was a friend.Thank you to Jay and Betty!Late one evening I was washing clothes. Daughter noticed water on floor under washer. I was so upset and worried about finding someone to fix the problem, whatever it was, and especially the cost. Goettl this the rescue! Namely, their employee/plumber, Chris! The next day, Chris came, found the clog in my pipes, and…voilà! We joined their $14.95 per month plan and that was all we paid for a job well done! Thank you!3.26.24Tyler Leija was great! He checked my drain pipe outside with a camera. Advised everything was clear. He checked my kitchen and master bathroom sinks and toilet. Tyler was friendly, but professional. Thank you.4.17.24Frank M arrived here on time. He was friendly and professional. He explained everything he was going to do today. He completed everything he mentioned. He provided suggestions of things that need or should be taken care of. Nothing urgent. He installed the water heater sensor in addition to other plumbing type things. He drained the water heater. He spoke to his supervisor, Terronne (sp?). Should received estimates for hvac and water heater. Thank you Frank! Great job!

Roy A. was a pleasure to work with. He thoroughly and expertly explained all of the issues with my system with pictures and videos. He was transparent about the remediation options available to me and patiently reviewed each option with me. The install team, Daniel and Roy, were equally as awesome. They too were extremely knowledgeable, patient with my questions, and worked diligently to get my new unit up and running safely in one day. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.

The water softener (which is outside) was ruined by the recent weather. Rudy and Chris were able to diagnose the problem and replaced the softener on same day. This was critical to avoid any plumbing problems in the house. We appreciate their professionalism and attention email to detail.
