AC FAQ: Why Change the Air Filter?
Pop quiz time — what is the single best thing that you can do to keep your air conditioning system in great working condition? If you answered “schedule routine air conditioning maintenance,” then you are correct. Mostly, anyway. Yes, scheduling routine air conditioning maintenance in North Las Vegas, NV is absolutely vital in the quest for a truly great home cooling experience. That being said, you’d be overlooking a very important step if you thought that this was all that is required of you.
While the bulk of your air conditioning maintenance procedures must be completed by trained professionals, there is one specific task that you yourself should be completing regularly. That is changing your air filter as needed. Typically, this means doing so every 1-3 months — though many factors will influence the situation and regularity in your home. If you have any doubts about just how important changing your air filter really is, we hope that you’ll keep the following information in mind.

We get it. You’ve got a lot on your plate, and the fact of the matter is that changing your air filter just doesn’t sound like that big of a priority. After all, it isn’t like your air conditioner is broken down or anything, right? Well, we really need to stress the fact that, simple a step as it may be, changing your air filter really can have some pretty major benefits for you and your system — just as failing to change that air filter can have some pretty serious consequences.
- Enjoy better efficiency. It goes without saying that we run our air conditioners a lot in this part of the country. You are going to have to pay for your comfort when the heat of summer strikes, but you should not have to overpay. If you leave a dirty filter in your air conditioner, though, chances are that you are going to be doing just that. Increased airflow resistance will force the system to work harder than it should have to in cooling your home, and your energy bills will reflect that.
- Enjoy better comfort. When your air conditioner is struggling just to force cooled air throughout your home, it is not going to function at peak performance levels. That will leave your comfort to suffer. The areas furthest from the air handler may not cool down as much as those closer, and your air quality may drop off as well. Very clogged filters can create so much airflow resistance that it is easier to force air around the filter than through it.
- Enjoy better reliability. Your air conditioner should go through a full cooling cycle before shutting down. If your air conditioner has a very dirty air filter causing it to overheat, though, then your system is likely going to wind up short cycling. That means that it will start up, run only briefly, and then shut back down. This increased strain can compromise the system, and increase the risk of damages.

Gilbert is exactly what you want in a tech. He was patient in listening to what my perceived situation is with all the context I could provide while also doing a fresh analysis uninhibited. This allowed him to corrobote some aspects of what I knew and what other companies claimed but also correct some other aspects that were misinterpreted or incorrect altoge. Add in personability, reasonability, and hard work and I could be happier.
Goettl is not cheap, although their service visit is very inexpensive, their quotes are almost always considerably higher. The service from an employee like Gilbert, however, is the sole reason why I would even consider entertaining a higher cost.

Rudy Flores yes, came to do maintenance on my heat for the winter and discovered mold or something growing in the ductwork . Our AC went down for the upstairs unit. We have a maintenance plan through another company but they do not provide 24/7 service. I called Goettl and I am so happy I did. Jesus Gloria was out within a few hours. I was called to confirm the appointment window. Then texted with the photo attached so I would know who my technician was and the link to track their arrival. Jesus was so professional and explained everything to make sure I understood. He took photos and videos to make sure I could see what he was talking about. Then showed me the photos after the repairs. I am so impressed with this experience. The company very clearly communicates how important customer satisfaction is to them. Today, Rodell did a thorough clean-out of our bathroom sink drains, including sending the camera down to check for build up out to the main connection to the sewer. This was included in our membership with no extra charge. He and his partner also found the mystery leak in the guest bathroom toilet and replaced the guts and seals. The thing I liked the best was his advice about maintenance and how that little hole in the sink is a real drain that also needs flushing out by letting the sink fill up periodically. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

Thank you Jerry for two plumbing jobs well done. Jerry cleaned out pipes from bathroom sink which were draining slowly. Jerry showed before and after pictures from his camera and what a big difference. Sink draining much better now.
Jerry also noticed our water pressure was low after flushing toilet then trying to wash hands in bathroom sink which were so he suggested a new pressure regulator as we have had a new better water conditioning system installed. We now have the best water pressure even when using a shower and kitchen sink faucet at the same time. Also Jerry is a master plumber and we appreciate his knowledge and experience. Will definitely call Goettl again when a plumber is needed.

Company sent us Stanley to help with a water line for our refrigerator. Had several problems but Stanley was very knowledgeable and informed us of all decisions and you could tell he just lived his job. It was a pricey fix and I respected Stanley more for being situationally aware that my wife and I needed to talk in private. He informed us, gave space and time to decide, and ultimately helped us out with the repairs. Others in management were very helpful too. Overall great experience

Nick, is the technician that was assigned to my house to check out my A/C. Nick was very thorough. He explained to me what he was doing and why. Nick showed me all the things he looked at on my A/C system. He explained to me why I might need a surge protector on the unit. I told him I would talk with my wife and explain it to her. Nicholas Mayhew came to our home to repair/replace the garbage disposal, unclog a kitchen sink and replace a bathtub spigot. He was assisted by Caleb. Nick gave three price quotes and options on what to repair before any work was started. He and Caleb repaired all in a matter of a little more than two hours, including a parts run.
